Carter Contact Lens manfactures a wide variety of precision high quality specialty RGP lenses. Products include toric front, bitoric, bifocal, trifocal, keratoconic and decentered optic zone lenses. Most multifocal and keratoconic specialty lenses can be manfactured with toric correction.
C.C.L. CRESCENT BIFOCAL DESIGNAdvantages: Very large distance optical zone, no jump between images, and good distance peripheral vision. Available in toric designs.
Disadvantages: Must drop quickly
CRESCENT SEG BIFOCAL DESIGNAdvantages: large distance optic zone.
Disadvantages: jump between images, must drop quickly.
DECENTERED TARGET BIFOCAL DESIGNAdvantages: good for desk/computer work, available in toric designs, no jump between images.
Disadvantages: may cause corneal molding, small distance optical zone.
CENTERED TARGET BIFOCAL DESIGNAdvantages: no prism, very thin, good near/intermediate vision, available in toric designs.
Disadvantages: must center extremely well, may cause corneal molding.
CONCENTRIC FRONT BIFOCAL DESIGNAdvantages: no prism, very thin, good near/intermediate vision, available in toric designs.
Disadvantages: must center extremely well.
Advantages: good choice for post-RK or lasik; available in most toric designs as well as some bifocal designs.
Disadvantages: initial fit should be from trial set for best results
If topography shows a central kone, consider a traditional sopercone or McGuire design. Custom designs are also available.
