Carter Contact Lens RGP laboratory was established in 1997 by Bill and John Carter.  Over 45 years of experience in contact lens design and manufacturing procedures deliver the finest quality RGP lenses for exceptional vision and comfort.

Bill Carter used his aircraft engineering skills to launch Northwest Northern optical PMMA business in 1959.  Bill's system cut front surface torics and lathed peripheral curves.

Dr. Akira Tajiri and Bill decided to form Sequoia Contact Lens in 1963. Here they produced crescent bifocals and off axis bitorics.  In 1972 Bill took over Sequoia.  The 1980's brought Radial Keratotomy and the design of reverse geometry lenses to correct post surgical error.

Menicon of Japan purchased Sequoia in 1989.  As president of Menicon USA, Bill continued his specialty lens design and consulting. 

Carter Contact Lens established itself in 1997. Menicon ceased RGP manufacturing in the USA a few years later. New lens designs for multifocal and keratoconus helped fitting specialists to fullfill patient needs.  CCL Crescent Bifocal and Trifocal lenses provide exceptional distance and near vision.  The CarterKone decenters the optic zone to match the contour of the cornea for better centration and vision.
